What Aux0 does with Gmail

Google OAuth, mailbox read and send, threads and labels

Connect a Google account through Google's own consent screen and work the mailbox on the user's behalf: list and search mail, send and reply in thread, manage drafts, move between labels, and read attachments. Aux0 requests the narrowest scopes that cover the endpoints you enable, and a customer can connect with their own Google client instead of ours.

A Gmail thread in Aux0 with an attachment, an open-tracking badge and a draft awaiting review.

Drafts, so a human stays in the loop

Write into the user's own drafts folder and they review, edit and send from the client they already use. For anything an agent composes, this is the shape people will turn on.

Replies that stay in the thread

Pass the message you are replying to and the provider threads it properly. A reply that starts a new thread is the most common way an integration annoys a recipient.

Every provider behind one shape

The reason to take email from us rather than an email-only vendor: a multichannel sequence reads one object model instead of reconciling two.

How an account is linked

OAuth

The provider's own consent screen. Your user signs in where they expect to, grants the scopes you asked for, and comes back. No credential passes through Aux0 at all.

Whichever method a provider uses, your users complete it on a page Aux0 serves under your branding. You receive an account id and a webhook; no password, QR scan or one-time code ever reaches your product. How hosted auth works.

What it is bought for

Inbox triage and reply drafting inside your own product

Syncing every customer email into the CRM against the right contact

Shared mailboxes answered by a team rather than a person

What you should know first

The constraints, before you commit

These are the provider's rules, not ours. We would rather you read them now than discover one in production.

An app requesting restricted Gmail scopes needs Google's verification and an annual security assessment before it leaves testing. Connect with your own Google client and that review is yours; connect with ours and it is already done.

Google's per-account send quotas apply and Aux0 paces sends under them.

Google accounts connect through the Gmail API, never over IMAP.

Questions

Does Aux0 need restricted Gmail scopes?

Only the ones your enabled capabilities require. Reading mail needs a restricted scope and an app requesting it needs Google's verification before it leaves testing — that applies to any vendor, including us. We request the narrowest set Google offers for what you turn on.

Can Aux0 send email on my users' behalf?

Yes, from their own mailbox, so it arrives with their address and lands in their sent folder. Aux0 is not a bulk sending service and has no shared IP pool; it works the mailbox the user already has.

Why use Aux0 for Gmail rather than an email-only API?

Nylas covers more mail providers than we do, and if the long tail is your requirement they are a reasonable choice. The reason to take Gmail from us is a published price, your own OAuth client on every plan, and the sync state on a screen your support team can open.
